We’re renting in Balwyn north. Part of the rent includes gardening. We’ve had the “gardener” come twice, but it’s not a third party, he’s the owner/landlord.

He’s come over twice to do the garden, and the first time we had our suspicions because he looked really familiar, and we also didn’t get notified that he was coming. I contacted the real estate to say that someone came and mowed the lawns and we weren’t notified. The real estate didn’t have any gardening booking on their records for that day either. So this time they sent an email saying a gardener was coming today, and I was hoping it would be an actual gardener, but it’s the same guy. I confirmed that it’s the owner because I found his name on a document then found him on Facebook. I feel like the real estate doesn’t know it’s the owner and not a third party.

I don’t really want the owner coming around all the time, and I don’t think they’re supposed to do that. But I don’t want to get him offside either, so I’m nervous about telling the real estate.

Any advice?

Thanks

Edit: thanks everyone for sharing your points of view! I’ve read everything and while I agree that the landlord is probably not behaving by the books, I’m going to just leave it, and try to develop and good relationship with him. We will see what happens.
