Preparing for Wisdom Teeth Removal

Post Body

Hi all, I went to a dentist yesterday (after a long long time) and I found out that I really need to have my bottom left and bottom right wisdom teeth removed because they are both angled and hitting the neighboring teeth (even worse, there are some tooth decay on second bottom leftmost tooth, although it's surprisingly not hurting at all).

And so, because of this, I need to have 4 wisdom teeth removed and it initially I made me afraid of the removal process itself. Googling around says that most people don't feel pain during the removal process, so that put me at ease a bit (I still imagine it's going to hurt a bit though), but then I realized the bigger problem is AFTER the removal, which are managing the pain and food.

You see, I virtually eat all my meal with rice (sometimes with noodle), so not being able to eat rice is going to put me at unease already as it seems a bit foreign to me. But anyway, from what I understand, the options available for me for the first week (and possibly second week) after the wisdom teeth removal are as follows:

- Yogurt

- Smoothie

- Blended soup

- Mashed potatoes (after few days)

I'm assuming boost sells smoothie so I guess I can go there and stock up a bit but I don't imagine they are going to be filling (maybe I'm wrong?), so I'm thinking I need to also get blended soup for actual meal.

However, since I normally never look for blended soup for meal, I have no clue where to find them in the CBD area... I like to think there should be a lot of places that sells soup in CBD, but I'm not sure which one sells blended ones, so I like to get some recommendations if possible (preferably ones close to flagstaff/melbourne central station).

I suppose I could get a blender, but I'm not really great at cooking, so I'm not really sure if it's just a matter of grabbing any cheap blender from Big W and just blend whatever vegetable soup I made after cooking them for long enough. Does Coles/Woolworth sells blended soup? I'm not sure if they do or not.

As for mashed potatoes, I guess I'm going to get them from fast food places, but if there's any recommendation, I'd like to hear it too.

In terms of pain, does it get unbearably painful for you guys after the removal? How do you guys manage the pain during the recovery process if it gets unbearable?

Sorry in advance for creating a long separate thread rather than putting this into daily megathread, but this whole thing really makes me nervous especially since I live by myself. I would be much much less worried if I have someone living with me but alas that's not the case and we're currently in lockdown.
