Due to some nasty unexpected medical costs in the first half of the year we’ve reached our $2550!family safety net for the first time since our daughter was born several years ago.
The last time this happened I was not even aware how the safety net work and didn’t even realise when I had minimal charges in the last couple of months of the year.
But not this time. I’m older and shit is starting to fall apart, so I want to hit prevention as hard as I can in next 4.5 months, while I have this rare opportunity to get 85% back.
I’m 54, Male, BMI 36, Pre-Diabetic Family history of Diabetes and Heart disease. Persistent Hypertension- Average 145/90 Rotator cuff and SLAP tear on right shoulder. My wife is 40, slim, but had her gallbladder removed last year due to stones and suffers from multiple abdominal related issues.
I’m already thinking full spread of blood tests, MRI for wife’s stomach and CT-guided cortisol injection for my shoulder. But would love to hear from folks here on what their medicare funded preventive check-list would look like.
