Advice for a first time renter
Post Body

Hello Melbourne!

First of all apologies if this not an appropriate sub.

I am moving out of the Mum and Dad hotel and into my own place next month. I am VERY lucky to have been able to secure a rental in this market at a borderline acceptable price.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice as a first time person living out of home/renting? What are suprise expenses I should be aware of? What household items are worth spending money on? What REA tricks should I be aware of?

Essentially, what would you tell your mid 20s self about living alone and out of home for the first time.

Thanks all!
