What’s the custom of Australia when it comes to birthday?

I’ll be celebrating my 23rd here in Australia and I’m thinking of inviting my friends to have a dinner and go clubbing afterwards.

Just wanna ask what’s the Australian custom when it comes to celebrating a birthday: Do I have to pay for everyone’s food? Or is it already an expectation from you who invited them?

In my culture, when we invite everyone for a dinner, let alone a birthday, the celebrant is always the one who’s expected to pay for everyone’s meal and i’m thinking if it’s also the case here in Australia.

I’m asking this question so I could budget everything properly. Thanks!
