Dead Stretching With Glass & Stainless Steel Plugs

Would it be ok if I stretch my ears from 14G to 10G using single flare glass plugs and then switch to stainless steel single flare plugs when going from 10G to 8G and 8G to 2G? The 10G in the stainless steel stretching kit I have is 2.4mm instead of 2.5mm (they're the only pair that aren't in 0.5mm increments in the kit for the half sizes) and a pair of single flare glass ones are 2.5mm.
