I went in to my Pharmacy today to pick up two somewhat expensive prescriptions. Being the first prescriptions of the year I was expending a huge co-pay thanks to the $545 deductable.
The prescriptions were for Ozempic and Fiasp, and another low cost generic drug.
The Insulin (FIASP) was $35 as expected.
The Generic Drug was free (No Co-Pay), and also showing $0 paid by the plan.
The Ozempic was only $188 dispite them showing a $1200 retail price. What's seems even stranger is the Amount Paid by the plan was shown as only $38 for the Ozempic. Who paid the rest?
Am I not understanding how deductables work. I was fully expecting to have to hand over $545 for this trip. I should also add that none of these numbers (Except for the $35 insulin copay) match, or are even close), to what Wellcare states on the Cost Estimate on their website.
