So I've made it through most of my prelim surgery year and I'm having doubts about myself as a future physician. I feel that although I've greatly improved since starting, I still feel like i'm not very thorough with patients, forget important physical exam aspects, forget to check certain things for pre rounds etc. I don't have any energy/desire to read when I get home and it worries me regarding my future as I'll be switching to anesthesia where attention to detail matters a whole lot. Anybody felt similarly and got out of this funk? I used to be very academic in medical school , got great step scores but ever since starting residency.. i've become very lazy
