Lining up a research year now that step 2 is the limiting factor
Post Body

I'm a DO MS3 interested in ENT. I got a late start but should have a handful of scholarly activities for ERAS if I maintain my current trajectory. I'm not opposed to a research year however I am curious as to how we should set this up now that Step 2 is the big exam. Is the research year something you could potentially back out of if your Step score is not competitive? Should I consider attempting the match and taking a research year if I go unmatched? Just hoping to get some guidance here. I'll be discussing it with a mentor soon but wanted to enter the dialogue with some ideas.
