Why would a toddler need a blood transfusion?
Post Body

I had a blood transfusion sometime between 3-5 years old. Everyone in my family is very hush, hush about it. I know one of the symptoms was lethargy which caused my grandfather to force my mother to take me to hospital. I don't think most of my family really knows what happened and my mother refuses to tell me why. It makes me think it was something she caused or atleast could have prevented.

I went to an Indian hospital and they are terrible at keeping records so my chart from then has been lost several times over. I've looked up reasons on the internet and none of them fit. Whatever it was did not require any further or atleast significant treatment. I wasn't in any accident no cancer or disease. My wife and I have 9 month old twins which has made me curious if it was something hereditary and what to watch out for. So that's about all I can think of that might be helpful. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have of course.
