Should I be concerned?

I had surgery December 8th. First picture is a few weeks post op showing a small opening in the wound. Last week the doctor cleaned it out and bandaged it. I am on antibiotics but it is infected. There are large amounts of puss coming out and the whole are is red and extremely painful. I am also running a fever of 101. I spoke with the doctor on the phone and he just told me to rest. Should I be more concerned or just keep resting?

Right subtalar arthrodesis. I have to screws running from the heel up through the talus. Doctor said the hole shouldn't be there. He cleaned it out to try to get it to close but it almost immediately got infected and the hole is now much bigger
