I am currently one week into a 4 week 15mg per week course of methotrexate for bad psoriasis. I have developed a pretty bad infection in my gums in the back of my mouth. I already have a really bad cavity in this location and my tooth is half blackened (didn’t have insurance before but do now) the infection has rapidly progressed to the point where the gum in the back of my mouth is swollen to what feels like double the size and my wife said it’s a dark red instead of pink like the rest of my gums.
I have also started having sweats, feel generally yuck, a little nausea, and severe pain in my gums. I have half a bottle of Augmentin antibiotics from a previous infection that I started taking now but is there anything else I can do before seeing a doctor?
Other meds I’m prescribed -
- Ketoconazole cream and shampoo 2%
- Zoloft
- Methadone
- Xanax
- Ambien
Thanks in advance!
