Persistent post-nasal drainage

Hi all, I am totally stumped on what could be causing my PND, and it’s starting to effect my day to day life.

Last year towards the end of August, I noticed a sensation of something stuck in my throat. I wrote it off but it ended up never going away, and it’s been a daily problem for over a year.

I’ve seen two ENT doctors; the first one ordered a barium swallow study, where nothing out of the ordinary was found. He did note that my throat looked mildly inflamed. The second one said that I have lots of post-nasal drainage and advised it was probably a dust allergy.

I did go and see an allergist, who tested extensively for environmental allergies, but everything came up negative.

I also see a GI doctor for unrelated issues who wanted me to try a proton-pump inhibitor, but two months on omeprazole saw no improvement and so I stopped taking it.

I’m relatively certain it’s not just a sensation because I can cough up a lot if phlegm if I try, but I’m never able to clear enough to solve the issue. I’ve tried Claritin, Mucinex, steroid nose spray, and saline nose sprays, some of which provided mild relief, but I always wake up back at square one. It’s bad enough some days that I’m on the verge of gagging all the time.

If anyone has recommendations or thoughts, I’m very open to them. I just want to feel normal again. Please let me know if additional details are needed.
