Cough With Clear Chest X-ray
For context: about 2ish weeks ago I developed a cough where I was producing quite a bit of mucus. It was very sticky too. For not I had been taking dab hits as part of my medical cannabis routine. I believe it may have given me a bit of resin in my lungs. Not 100% sure.
Fast forward after telling my doctor they prescribed a Zpack and Iām now on the last day as of this post.
Since taking the antibiotics the amount of mucus has been cut by almost 98% I no longer really cough that much and when I do produce it may just be a little ball of mucus thatās a little green. Or lighter.
My chest X-ray came back clear and clean. I also looked at the photos and from my āgooglingā there was nothing to worry about. The doctor confirmed.
Today when I updated my doc that I only cough when I exhale deeply and hear just a slight rattle they recommended a medrol dose pak or prednisone. I told them I would trust their decision.
However, can someone maybe give me a bit of external thoughts on this? I cannot Google else Iām going to get results go ālung cancer signs and symptomsā which isnāt good for my mental health lol.
Iāve never had to take antibiotics or steroids before so itās just a lot for me to process and as probably a lot of other people think the worst.
Are steroids usually prescribed if the need isnāt urgent? Is there something my doc isnāt telling me? Just wanting a little comfort.
No know issues, early this year full CBP came back with everything in range. Iām 6ft 1in 315 lbs (Iām working on it as soon as this clears up). I havenāt taken vitamins in a while because I ran out but will get more. My dad did have lung cancer but he and my mom did smoke a carton of cigs every two days. I do not smoke except for cannabis which I am now only going to take gummies or edibles.
Thanks for reading.
