Syncing/Playing Music Outside Home

Is there any way to setup external access on MM/MMA? I've literally been trying to do this for years, it would make the app usable outside of the house when I want access to my library but don't have 5TB to spare on my phone. I love the sync function, but if I could use it anywhere that'd be the best case scenario.
