Hey all, Iβm curious. What do you think a mechanic is worth today? Not just what shops decide to pay you.
If a tech flags 40 hours a week consistently, what do you think they are worth? What about 25 hours?
Also, if someone works flat rate, whether they flag 20, 40, or 60 hours, is 20 an hour fair? 25? 1/3 of labor rate? Please discuss. Itβs 2024, and we all know cost of living is high, but being a mechanic can be a technical job. Some would even say, difficult, or hard on your body.
What is fair? Please discuss.
