I am working my way through the Pentel America catalogs. In the 1980 catalog:

The pictures of the PSD5 show it with black knurling. In the 1982 catalog and every picture I can find online the knurling is silver. Does anyone have a PSD5 with black knurling or evidence that the knurling was at one time black?
The PSD5 was not in the 1990 catalog. Does anyone know what year it was first produced?
I'm not looking to buy one, just looking for information.
