The car runs and drives normally, when I opened up the valve cover the timing marks are all aligned I took it to the dealership, they said the exhaust cam gear needs to be replaced because the dowel pin has sheared off into the cam causing the engine to jump timing, I donβt think my engine is out of time I have pictures of everything. Dealer wants to replace timing cover, chain, tensioner both cam gears and cam shafts can I get away with replacing just the Timing chain, tensioner, and exhaust gear? I plan on selling the car. The car gives off misfire codes but the engine is not misfiring. Has anyone had a similar experience.
