Contentually stupid question About expired yeast.

So it's been less than 24 hours since I've added yeast. And it hit me today that my yeast may be expired. So my question is too fold if i go out buy new yeast today. One would there be any health risks in adding the new yeast? And two would that save my batch if the old is expired.
