Gravity to sweetness question
Post Body

Hello,

First off as you more than likely guess I'm new to making mead (still in the "research phase"). I had a question about how specific gravity correlates to sweetness.

I understand SG is basically how much sugar is in your mead, but how does that corollate to sweetness. If I have a FG of 1.03 how sweet is that actually going to be? I enjoy sweet wines. Not necessary into the desert category, but I hate dry wines. Just to give you an idea of my palate.

I tried to do some research of the topic, but I find so many different scales so I am hoping someone here with more experience will give me a hand.

I guess I am just trying to figure out a good FG for something sweet but not too sweet and how the FG measures to sweetness.
