Advice of what to do when there is no research because of COVID?
Post Body

For some background information, I'm a junior right now and I had been working with a professor at my school since the summer after my freshman year. However, I have not had a chance to continue with my project since March when the school got shut down and when school starts this semester, my professor has refused to continue hiring me (and other students) in his lab due to concern about public health, and he might go on sabbatical leave next year, which means my project might have to cut short and not ever have any significant result to talk about. Though it is very understandable, I've been feeling so awful about this, and honestly, I do not know what to do to make me a more competitive candidate when I cannot go to the lab now.
