I wrote a review article as an assignment for one of my classes this semester for which I got an A . Therefore, I decided to send my paper to the PI whose works I used to frame my paper as I was looking for his opinions and also expressing my appreciation for his works. He is a big guy of the field, and not only did he reply back to my email but he also thought that my paper was impressive for an undergraduate and that I should consider publishing it. I never thought about that until he suggested it, and now I have been very intrigued. As a rising junior with a decent background in research, I'm still not familiar with the process of publication, and I do not know where to start. I've hit some professors at my school with the same concerns and the paper I wrote, but I haven't got anything from them so far. I've thought of maybe trying for an undergraduate journal, but knowing that they do not have the high regard in the field even though some of them are from highly respectable institutes, I've been very hesitant.
