How much does the interview process for MD/PhD applicants differ to MD-only ones?

I assume it will be more research-focused with committee and then maybe individual interviews with potential PIs? Besides than that, what does entail in this process? I know many grad programs have “informal” sessions with current students in the programs, so do we have to interview with other current students as well? If so, how much do those students’ opinions weigh relatively to the committee and PIs?
