How much is the difference between a research-focused postbacc program and being an RA in a productive and supportive lab?
Post Body

As a non-citizen, non-resident, I wasn’t qualified for any NIH-funded research-focused postbacc program. But I was very fortunate to land an RA job at a very well-funded, productive, and supportive lab. I’m currently working with a postdoc and another RA in a very big project, with me independently leading several mini-projects/big experiments within this big project. By the time I apply, I will have several publications and a very strong LoR. With that being said, since this is just an RA position and not a prestigious postbacc, I wonder if that would make much of a difference in the eyes of Adcom.
