Difference between mctd and uctd? Also looking for people's experiences on Plaquenil

Today I was finally diagnosed and he said it's uctd after all. Is uctd basically a less severe version of mctd or are they the same thing?
I was also prescribed plaquenil. I'm always nervous starting a new medication. From what he's said and from what I've looked up it does seem pretty safe though. No serious side effects besides that potential eye issue and that's after years of use correct? How has people's experience on it been?
