Post Body

Hey all, now that we've had the livemap for a few days I've gone ahead and prepared a TRAVEL system map showing the currently open segment (black outlines), the segment presently under construction (green outlines), and the segments planned for the near future (red outlines).

Click here to view the map.

Please note: planned segments are subject to change. However, I will be doing preliminary construction starting tonight for the Spawn East -> Avalon stretch, in order to secure the right-of-way before even more builds crop up in that area.

There will also be some extensive planning and significant material needs and construction work entailed to build a 1200-block-long bridge across the ocean; that will be the single biggest infrastructure project I've ever undertaken and when the time comes, I may look for volunteers to help out with it. In the meantime, I'm considering stone and diorite for the primary bridge construction materials, so any donations of those would be gratefully accepted. Right now, the tentative plan is to make it a combined road and rail bridge (something like the Stillman Powers Memorial Bridge on the noRTh system in Rev.14). I'm still mulling over what sort of bridge design to use, though I'm leaning toward cable-stayed or suspension.

Also, if you're a mayor of Avalon, let me know if that station placement works for you. It should give a nice view of the sphinx for riders heading to and from the bridge once that is added.
