Can a professor do this?
Post Body

Hey guys! I'm in COMP 535 (Computer Networks) and our grading criteria for the class were 5 labs, 3 midterms, and 3 programming assignments. As of this Thursday, we will complete all of our midterms and 4 of the 5 labs.

The professor just released assignment 2 which is due on 10th December during the exam period and plans on releasing one more assignment after this one. I was wondering if it is possible to do that considering that the student assessment policy states:

4.1.1 Instructors shall ensure that Students are provided with sufficient time to complete in-term written Assignments prior to the commencement of the final examination period.

4.1.2 Unless otherwise provided by the Unit/Faculty, the due date for in-term written Assignments shall be no later than the last day of classes as specified in the University calendar

If anyone has any insights/thoughts, let me know!

I took COMP 535 with him last semester, and fully agree. To add to this, last semester every single assignment had some significant flaw which prevented us completing the assignment. I was basically working as a TA, solving problems sometimes directly with him. Either an issue in the provided software, provided files didn't work, or steps that didn't make sense. I got through the class by just reading the recommended book, it was far more useful than his class
