Masters Program After Working
Post Body

Can anyone share their experience on applying/completing a masters program (MSc) not immediately after their undergrad. I'm considering taking a break from school after undergrad to work. My initial worry is regarding letters of recommendations and that it'll be tough to reach out to profs if its been a few years since I've been at McGill. Any insight to the whole process would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently doing my Masters after taking 3 years to work in the field. I had no trouble getting back into a program, and the experience in the field has helped me a lot in courses with poor profs and I need to basically learn the material on my own. It also gets you a better idea of how you like the field, and where you like to specialize.

That being said, Mcgill (or at least my group) has done a horrible job transitioning to online only, and has had basically zero work for me to do during my Masters, and realizing the time and money invested is not worth it. I'd rather be out there getting practical experience learning from people who know what they're doing, rather than profs who can't teach.
