Hi friends!
So I need some advice. I'm in a course where if you can't take one of the midterms (2 of them each worth 20%) you can push the weight of it onto the final exam (50% without any added weight). Over reading week my partners mom passed away, and so it has been a very overwhelming and emotional week and needless to say I've had little-no time to study. The class that I'm talking about is PSYC408 (if thats relevant to you), and I already have a 90% in the course but only 30% of my grade is made up, so I am trying to decide which is more practical: cram for the midterm over the next 3-4 days and wing it OR defer the weight to the final (when I will likely have more time, but still not ideal). I've never had to defer an exam or put weight onto another exam to make up for it so I'm hoping to get some guidance of people's experiences, and maybe logistical recommendations (like if I get a B on the next midterm but have less to reaaaaallly study for the final am I probable to actually do better?).
for context, I really doubt I would get under a B or B even if I did take the midterm because I attend class and really like the material so I feel as though I have enough of a general understanding of it to get a B. I know its not a bad grade, but I am applying for scholarships and grants right now and need to really keep my transcript looking pretty so I need to kind of consider what will help me the most.
