The Process to study away at McGill is so needlessly complicated and requires multiple application forms, meeting with different advisors, and all of this takes so much time that you probably won't even get it done before your study abroad starts, meaning that if your application or departmental approval is rejected you're SOL and stuck in a program that won't give you any credit. It's so obvious that McGill is both A - horribly disorganized at the departmental level as there is very little interdepartmental communication so you must do all the legwork for McGill when doing something as common and simple as studying abroad and B - McGill is actively discouraging students from studying abroad by making the process as hellish as possible because they want your tuition money going to them and not to some overseas university. Just another example of McGill's greed and outdated bureaucracy that harms students and benefits the people at the top of McGill writing themselves checks from our tuition money. It's become so clear to me that McGill cares a million times more about squeezing every penny out of it's students over being a decent educational institution. If I didn't hate the CAQ so much I'd almost be happy that their tuition hikes are financially harming this shady and corrupt institution I decided to go to for some reason.
