Does anybody else not study?
Post Body

I rarely study or do readings at McGill and I'm a U2 student in Arts, does anybody else do this? I see people on TikTok and on Reddit talking about spending hours upon hours studying for finals, as well as hundreds of studying staying at the library 24/7 studying and doing readings. Does anybody else not relate to this at all? I have zero grindset and feel like I don't fit in at McGill because of my lack of studiousness. This doesn't really have a negative affect on my grades as I've never really studied since High School and have managed to pass my classes so I've never felt the need to change my lack of studying. However, I'm shocked when my friends tell me they can't hang out or call because they're so busy studying or doing readings as that is simply something I'm unfamiliar with. I feel like most Arts classes can be passed without doing much reading or studying as long as you go to lectures and pay attention (can't speak for STEM majors) so I'm confused why some arts majors insist on studying for hours and hours when honestly they don't need to. I might come off as pretentious but I think too many people at McGill waste their time studying topics and concepts they already know, just to feel like they've done enough studying to be prepared for an exam when they already were prepared. In all honesty I'm very lazy and have ADHD so I've never cared to study more than an hour or two per week. Does anybody else not buy into McGill's study culture and just go with the flow of classes and hope for the best?
