Initially I started off as a bookkeeper (in accounting) very much a typical ISTJ - focused on order, hierachy, routine, detail orientated, etc.
Over time, my confidence grew in accounting and I took a managerial role. I was forced to use my Te. I struggled at first, but a year in, I found a good balance between using my Si and Te. I still respected order and hierarchy but I was becoming less detail orientated and more results focused. I was learning to delegate (though only if the staff could handle it).
I then went on a career break and started working on becoming a self-employed author because life is too short not to chase your dreams. The field is very subjective, collaborative, and changing. I found myself becoming much more efficient, open-minded to different approaches, and results focused. Itβs got to a point where I would argue that my Te is equal to my Si.
