Can an 08 motor be put into 09 car?

My 2008 Speed 3 is too far gone in the rust department. I found an 09 Speed 3, with no rust for cheap, with a blown motor. I am going to make sure there isn’t an access port married to the new cars ECU before purchase. Will it be a seamless swap?
