Cx3 touring. The suspension sucks! Any advice??

Hey guys! My 18 cx3 touring is such a stiff ride... It's has the 18 inch rims. If I put the 16e on it would it help? Or maybe some coilovers or what? Plz help!!! The roads in Syracuse are shit to begin with
