My bf was driving my car to work the other day and heard a klunk when the transmission was downshifting from 5th to 3rd. He was able to get to work by staying in 3rd or below.

I had it towed to my regular shop, however the owner that I've known for 10 years, retired. I've had previous issues where I've been over charged for quotes (woman) as I've had a guy friend or my bf call that same shop days later for the exact same thing and was quoted almost half. This is why I went to this shop, the owner was just a really nice & honest guy.

I'm not saying the new owner isn't being honest, but before I get hooped again, I wanted to see what you all thought.

The quote was $1900.00 (Cdn) for a used transmission with 3 month warranty or a rebuilt for $2895.00 with a 1 year Warranty.

I'm in Vancouver, Canada, so if you know in Cdn dollars, that would really help.
