Vandalism damage….

Post Body

Well, it happened…I was stupid and didn’t park my 2023 Mazda3 in the garage. Someone keyed my hood. But it didn’t appear to cut through the clear. I haven’t taken pictures of the damage yet as I’d like to not involve the insurance company. I’m posting this to see if anyone else has had experience with buffing Mazdas?. I know that Mazda paint is very soft, and I have some experience with buffing but not much. I also hear that the Soul Red paint is the worst of them all. If I attempt to buff it out, should I avoid wet sanding altogether and just try to get it out with the buffer? I have a car show in 3 weeks and really like to avoid having the car in the body shop getting repainted lol.
