It seems like just yesterday we were all told how unsafe Lahaina was due to toxic exposure. Scientists have expressed great concern, and some are comparing this tragedy to the toxic exposure of 9/11. I assume we still have a lot to learn together. However, I am fairly certain that specific toxic levels had to measure within a safe range before Lahaina was opened back up. Where can we see this public information before people begin returning to that area? This is especially concerning for the few lucky people who still have housing. Are we 100% certain they are safe to return and will not experience any short or long term effects from any toxic exposure?
I am by no means an expert. Which are the concerning and likely toxins we should be learning about before returning to Lahaina?
When should we wear masks and which types of masks will protect us from these toxins?
I am sorry, but just because Lahaina is suddenly open to everyone does not mean I am convinced it is completely safe. I think we all still need to also do our own research to protect ourselves and our families and friends.
