First off apologies if this is a rambling post or whatever but I literally just thought of this and wanted to write it down.
So the whole thing is kind of centered around these ginormous ancient golems that were used to fight a war some thousands of years ago but have since been lost to the mists of time. They're left scattered around the world buried underneath mountains or else so eroded that they aren't recognizable anymore.
Essentially, each of these lost golems are dungeons by themselves. Theres some bad guys trying to reactivate one of them that just so happens to be in the PC's part of the world, and the PC's then have to delve through the golem to stop this evil boi.
Idk where I would take it after that first golem; I might consider that it just doesn't work, but there is a more powerful, well preserved golem somewhere out in the mountains (might use Expedition to the Barrier Peaks for that, not sure). Or I might have the original golem be entirely functional and I have no idea how that would change the political landscape of the area, but it certainly would.
Idk, I just had this thought when I saw a piece of art (This one https://imgur.com/u3hcYxm credit to u/natefinch) and it looked neat.
