How to solve for a variable in a summation?

Hi folks. Is it possible to solve for k? The sum of all g terms should always equal 1. I tried googling, and all I could find was info about arithmetic sequences, but the differences between each g term can never be assumed to be equal, so it could be a set like (0.5, 0.2, 0.04, 0.657, 0.987), and they must all be scaled in order to sum to 1.

For context, the g terms are produced by finding the distance between point P and an arbitrary number of other points, let’s call them S1, S2…Sn
