Are there any textbooks dedicated to building up a single really important theorem from first principles?
Post Body
I have a hard time following textbooks because the examples never feel intrinsically interesting to me, so I wonder if I would have an easier time if a textbook was primarily about gradually getting you to the point where you can first understand, then prove for yourself, a single really important theorem that requires most of the machinery of some field. That way I could look forward to doing that and have more motivation.
