I'm having a discussion with my girlfriend about ln and log and what they mean. Please chime in.
My position is that I almost never need logarithms of bases other than e, and that ln just feels all kinds of weird, and so I always write log instead of ln, and if I need another base I will denote it explicitly, such as log2.
Her position is that log without a base subscript is always to be understood as base 10 logarithm, and I am better off using ln for the natural logarithm.
I hope /r/math can help us resolve this conflict of potentially apocalyptic significance.
