Just a disclaimer I'm a math noob so I might not use the correct terminology when expressing myself.
I work as a software developer but have always been very much interested in the mathematical aspects of Computer Science. I know that computer science is founded on Discrete Mathematics (whatever that means,) and that Knuth's work is considered a magnum opus of the field.
I tried picking up Knuth's books but I was completely lost as to what any of it meant. It seems like it assumes a strong mathematical basis, which I don't have. Knuth attempted to address that lack of mathematics for his students in "Concrete Mathematics," but even that lost me after the second chapter.
Does anyone have any good book recommendations on how to tackle this behemoth of a project? Please consider me a complete beginner to mathematics when considering your recommendations.
Edit: Got some good advice from u/exophades which I think that's where I'll start, but I'll leave this open to continue the dialog for posterities sake. thx ya'll
