Best way to ride a glass toy?

I have struggled with this multiple times -
What do other people do to keep their glass dildos/wands/etc from sliding around while riding?
I've used the classic stack of books or box or stool to get things set at the right height, but invariable the glass base (sometimes a little lube-y) slides around, making it hard to achieve a rhythm or long, uninterrupted ride.
plz help - I just got a lovely new toy and I'm trying to bounce & clap cheeks on this bad boi.
