Is it normal to go soft while edging for a long time?

Well. When I try and edge for a long time say, an hour. I will usually start getting soft, or will go completely soft, bc I will end up losing interest. So is that normal? And also is there any way I could you know just be hard af for a whole hour and not lose interest.
