Hello there,
Just finished for the first time ME:LE after i did the original version on xbox like 6times. Of course as announced it will be spoiler-to-death thread.
The years pass and I'm strongly convinced that both of indoctrination theory and normal theory are linked and both of them have to be followed.
For me, the final confrontation with the Catalyst is a try from the reapers to indoctrinate Shepard like they did to TIM and Saren. Like them the Reapers intelligency (hope this word has a meaning i English haha) try to convince Shepard like they literally convinced Saren and TIM to Synthesis and Control even if it was in different ways because the Crucible was not in the game.
The Catalyst is way too positive speaking about control or synthesis. Like EDI it has a survival instinct, so everything is OK till the Reapers survive. Or shepard embrace the cause controlling them but in my opinion becoming like them, or Shepard makes a sacrifice that allows the reapers to find a new solution. In both, the enemy Shepard dies and the Reapers live with am unknown future that will necessarily implie them if the solution doesn't work.
Destruction is an ending where :
- the catalyst say "you are half synthetic too" saying that you will die whatever happen _ say all the synthetics would die - > but all the warships have an IV don't they? So how the ships could continue to work? And EDI is in the Normandy, but the Normandy flies a few time just after the crash... Maybe Eve's body isn't there anymore but I doubt she and the Geths really disapper
- the catalyst dosent change the motivations even of Geth and Quarian find peace, or just thinking about the motivation of the conflict (Quarian tried to extinguish the Geth and not the contrary...)
Then you add that Shepard says "there should be a different solution", as the indoctrination is on his way.
And this is a reason the Catalyst appear in the child representation : the Reapers wanted to make Shepard face an innocent victim toShep to make him weaker and think to all the people he already lost cresting this child nobody sees, nobody helps, nobody hears in the beginning of ME3.
So for me destruction is the only good solution if you consider the Reaperrs a bad solution to the problem.
That's it :) what do you think?
