Anyone know how to make animated wallpapers from the loading screens?

I'd really like some animated wallpapers (Dreamscene, or something else). I really love a nice, clear 1920x1080 set of some of the loading screens I could use for desktop backgrounds. Specifically the Normandy in FTL, and the stationary-camera ones from the Citadel.

I'd really love to have some clean, smoothly looping versions of those.

I tried converting the .biks to something other stuff myself, but they're 1280x720, and when out of game they scale up horribly. They looked fine in game... I'm not sure what to do.
