Hey all. I’m a 31yo male, I work as a paramedic 72hrs a week (3 days per week) in a busy 911 system. My wife is a 27yo female, stay at home wife. We have a good amount of coping skills and bonding sessions that we use to detox from the stress of the week, and as a way to be closer to one another, especially the day before a work day and the day back from one.
Part of our routine is to take a bath together before bed. Bubbles, bath bomb, candles and some good sugar scrub. Afterwards about an hour before bed, we take turns massaging eachother. Full body, deep tissue massages. This is a great release from stress, but it also feels incredible as we weight lift 4-5 days per week, 2 hour sessions each, plus 90 minutes of bjj 2-3x per week. All that to say that the massage is a wonderful part of our routine, and I have zero complaints of how my wife uses her strength and technique when she massages me. However, while she’s never complained of my technique either, I’ve always wanted to be able to be better for her instead of feeling like I was just winging it. Is there any literature that I should read, or any videos that I should watch that will assist me in gathering more skill so I can better massage my wife? I apologize for the broad details in this request, I’m unsure of the proper terminology off the top of my head. All tips welcome. Thank you!
