There are quite a lot of disappointed/angry videos and comments all over the net. They complain about Isaiah believing that a Black Captain America is a bad idea because we had Obama and War Machine.
I could understand it, if those comments were made by other germans like myself. But I have a hard time understanding how Americans, who just had a racist president, and are literally in the middle of the George Floyd trial, act like Sam's insecurities do not make sense. Even while Obama was president, a lot of people disliked the fact that he was not white. And War Maschine has never been an Icon for Black people, in universe I mean.
Isaiah lived through the worst parts of american racism, so it makes sense that he isn't optimistic. And while Sam recognizes his opinion as valid, isn't the whole point of the show, that he disagrees and believes that he needs to be Captain America because America is racist and needs to improve?
I first believed that was too obvious, but so many people have so many different takeaways and complain, which results in me being confused and complaining. Can someone explain why american viewers are so mad at this show and Isaiahs Statement?
Thank you for dealing with the rant of a confused german manπ
