I never wanted RDJ as Dr. Doom and still don't. When he was first announced as Doom I was a little more optimistic in a "Let's just see where it goes kinda way", but the more I think about it the more I would have much rather had Michael Fassbender in the role, and RDJ just play Superior Iron Man. Idk if I'm in the minority here but I just think Fassbender is perfect for the role, especially after her performance as Magneto is the X-Men movies. And if they are planning on continuing to expand upon multivariate travel then this would be a perfect time to introduce superior Iron Man, and have him fight Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Idk... just how I feel I guess.
