I feel like with so much new IP flooding in, you may as well wipe it all away and make everything shiny new.
You can launch a new cinematic universe with every team and character in their most popular and iconic status quos, step over most of the origins no issue and this solves a few things.
Stuff like adapting a big crossover event, which X played a noticeable role in but oh no X died in the mcu a decade ago so guess weāll just have to write around that. Which of course the mcu has never struggled with dropping characters from stuff before but now you wonāt have to. Or just the fact X was very popular.
Similarly you can open to a much larger scale so X just not existing yet also isnāt a problem or should be a significantly less common one.
As well as the whole āomg where was Y this whole timeā thing.
I just think everything will be smoother and has greater world building potential. You can launch this new verse in an already established status quo, not stepping up gradually with one character at a time like iron man-Hulk-captain America etc.
You could have an on screen universe able to adapt events on the scope of the likes of civil war and secret invasion (not personal asks just examples) obviously certain characters will get much more screen time than others. But having everything there just feels better imo.
Maybe this will sound silly but the current mcu could definitely feel moreā¦ marvely? Than it does, not a critique per se they had their reasons for going small but now I donāt think they need to.
